Trent Alexander-Arnold risks angering Liverpool teammate Mo Salah when asked to pick between the best players in the world

Trent Alexander-Arnold was asked to pick between Mohamed Salah and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has risked angering his Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah.

Reds full-back Alexander-Arnold was asked by JD Football to take part in a task where he had to pick between two players formatted in a knockout style with different stars put head-to-head.

You can watch the footage below.

When it was down to the final eight players, Alexander-Arnold selected Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic before picking Salah over Samul Eto’o.

On the other side, Karim Benzema was chosen ahead of Robert Lewandowski, with Lionel Messi completing the final four after Alexander-Arnold snubbed Thierry Henry.

The Englishman then picked Ronaldo ahead of Salah and Messi ahead of Benzema.

Eventually, Alexander-Arnold chose Messi ahead of Ronaldo in the final round.

After suffering a knee injury during the 2-0 FA Cup victory against Arsenal, Alexander-Arnold aggravated the injury during Liverpool’s match against Burnley and is now facing an extended spell on the touchline.

Speaking about injuries this week, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “Not great, definitely not. I would like to sit here and say we have absolutely no issues but obviously we have some.

“So, not available is obviously Ali, that’s a muscle injury where we don’t know exactly how long it takes but definitely not for foreseeable time coming back.

“Then we have Diogo with a knee issue, is ruled out. Curtis, with a bone ligament issue, ruled out.”

He added: “All the little bit longer-term like Trent and Dom, they are on their way back but not in team training yet, so that means they are not available as well. That’s the situation, let me say it like that.

“What I said after the game, as long as we have 11 players, we will go for it, and that’s exactly the idea. It takes with the boys day by day and with the games definitely game by game.”

Liverpool are back in action this weekend when they take on Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.
