‘In France, they only have PSG, everyone else is finished’: Cristiano Ronaldo reiterates Saudi Pro League is better than Ligue One

Al Nassr player Cristiano Ronaldo recently reiterated his stance that the Saudi Pro League was better than the French Ligue One. The superstar had made the same claim in January this year and said that the SPL is more competitive than its French counterpart.

“Of course, the Saudi Pro League is better than League 1. I’m not saying this because I play here. I don’t care what people think about it. The players should come here and they will see soon. “Just try to sprint at 38, 39, 40 degrees,” Ronaldo said at the Globe Soccer Awards on Friday.

“Come and you will see. If you don’t believe me then come. In France, they only have PSG, all the rest are eliminated. No one can beat them because they have the most money and the best players.

At the same ceremony on Friday, Ronaldo hit out at the decision to hand the men’s Ballon d’Or award to Manchester City’s Rodri, saying Brazil and Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior deserved the win instead.

“In my opinion he (Vinicius) deserved to win the Golden Ball. It was unfair, I say it here in front of everyone,” said the Portuguese captain, who has won the award five times.

“I love the way they build their careers, (Jude) Bellingham, Lamin (Yamal) now, this young generation, Vinicius, they do great things,” Ronaldo said.

“They gave it to Rodri, he deserved it too but I think they should have given it to Vinicius because he won the Champions League.”
