Inter Miami CF head coach Xavier Masterano confirmed Lionel Messi The CONCACAF Champions Cup at Independence Park in Kingston will travel with Jamaica’s team to face FC in the second phase of the Cup Round -off -16 series on Thursday.
Messi recalled the last three Miami matches, described by Masterano as a load management.
“Leo Messi is on a roster and will travel to Jamaica with the team,” Masterano told the media on Wednesday. “Tomorrow we will decide for the game what is the best, if he starts or wait on the bench and later comes.
“Today he trained with the team, and the sensations were good. We are happy that he will travel to Jamaica with us.”
The team will travel on Wednesday to follow the ConcacAF protocol and will remain in the match 24 hours before Kick off.
In an attempt to avoid any future injury, Mascherano failed to include Messi in Rosters for matches against Houston Dynamo and Cavalier FC before leaving on the bench for the entireness of the game against Charlotte FC on Sunday.
The coach emphasized several occasions that Messi did not hurt at the beginning of the season, but he chose the player to relax to reduce the risk after kicking the 2025 campaign with three matches in a interval of seven days.
Inter Miami will now prepare to withstand the caveberies in the second phase with most rosters, with the return of the defender Maxi Falcon, after missing the match against Charlotte due to a jerk in the Champions Cup action during the Champions Cup action.
Miami enters Cavalier with a 2–0 lead after winning the first match at the Chess Stadium last week. Masterano stressed that he is not taking anything, although he removed the concerns about the terms of the region in Jamaica’s capital
“We know that tomorrow we are going to play a hard game for us. This is a game that is very important, not only for this week but for the season because we had a chance through the quarter -finals,” said Mascherano.
“Finally, obviously we like what the field is good, better for us the way we play. But anyway, we have to play in the condition that the field is.”
Should Antyon Miami complete the victory in Jamaica, will the team face MLS rival LAFC in the quarter -finals.
