Man City Star Arrested for Alleged Phone Theft in Madrid Nightclub
Manchester City midfielder Matheus Nunes has been arrested and released on bail after being accused of stealing a mobile phone from a person in a Madrid nightclub.
According to reports, Nunes was in the La Riviera nightclub in Madrid on a night out when a 58-year-old man allegedly took a photo of him in a bathroom without permission. The Man City star allegedly snatched the phone in a "very angry" manner and refused to return it when the victim tried to take a photo of him.
Local police took Nunes to the Arganzuela police station, where he was questioned for an alleged theft. He was later released on bail pending trial.
The incident occurred at 5:30 am, and Nunes’ lawyer began the process to speed up his release. The 26-year-old was not brought before a court, as the crime was considered a minor offense.
Nunes has played six games for Manchester City this season, including a substitute appearance against Brentford on September 14, shortly after his arrest. He was in Madrid for a short break, having not been selected by Portugal for their Nations League fixtures.
