Arsenal Fans Think Ben White is "Never" Getting Back in the Team After Kai Havertz’s Stunning Performance
Arsenal’s impressive 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League has left fans in a frenzy, and one player’s stunning performance has fans thinking that Ben White is "never" getting back in the team.
Kai Havertz headed home in the 20th minute, and Bukayo Saka doubled the lead with a free-kick, securing Arsenal’s first win of the Champions League campaign. But it was Jurrien Timber’s display at right-back that caught the eye, and fans are now questioning White’s place in the starting XI.
Timber, who was forced off at halftime due to a muscular issue, was praised by Mikel Arteta for his "unbelievable" first half performance. Arteta said: "He was unbelievable in the first half but he felt something muscular. and he was uncertain and I didn’t want to take any risks. He’s been out for a year, he’s played a lot of minutes, probably more minutes than we wanted in the last few weeks, and we have to manage him."
Fans took to social media to express their admiration for Timber’s display, with one user tweeting: "Timber has settled in so comfortably at RB Ben White might never get his chain back." Another added: "Jurrien Timber is a serious threat to Ben White…" A third said: "It’s never been a debate bruv, a fit Timber is a guaranteed starter for us."
But what makes Timber such a threat to White’s starting spot? The Dutch defender’s pace, agility, and defensive prowess are unmatched, and his ability to play in different positions makes him a valuable asset for Arteta.
Riccardo Calafiori, another summer signing, also impressed fans with his energetic display. Arteta praised the Italian defender, saying: "He has the capacity to occupy different spaces, he’s really comfortable with that, he’s already done that in Italy and that’s why we signed him. First of all, he’s a great defender, he has this presence and energy and full commitment in the reaction that he does and he’s really brave. He doesn’t care in those situations, he wants the ball, he wants to make things happen with it and is happy to play in different roles."
