Ian Wright tears into Erling Haaland and calls Man City striker a ‘coward’ for his behaviour against Arsenal in furious rant

Ian Wright Rips into Erling Haaland: "Coward’s Move"

In a shocking turn of events, former Arsenal star Ian Wright has launched a scathing attack on Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, labelling him a "coward" for his actions on the pitch.

Wright’s comments come after City’s 1-1 draw with Arsenal, where Haaland was at the center of controversy. The Norwegian striker was seen throwing the ball at Gabriel Magalhaes’ head when the defender was not looking, a move that Wright deemed "cowardly".

"I saw it this morning properly, throwing the ball at Gabby’s head when he’s not looking, when his back is turned to him that’s a real coward’s move," Wright said in a recent interview. "Gabby would look you in the eye, I’m looking at this as a really good defender against a really good striker. I love watching them two but then you’re doing a cowardly move like that. That’s what bothered me more than anything else."

Wright’s outburst comes as a surprise, considering his usual reserved nature on social media. However, his frustration with Haaland’s actions is understandable. The incident highlights the increasing trend of unsportsmanlike behavior in the game, with players resorting to cheap tricks to gain an advantage.

The Arsenal legend also touched on the red card given to Leandro Trossard, who was sent off for kicking the ball away. While Wright acknowledged that Trossard’s actions were foolish, he believes that the punishment did not fit the crime.

"I’ve got to get something out there that’s bothering me cause obviously the Trossard sending off of course in the moment you’re frustrated," Wright said. "I’m thinking yes we’ve got them and then we get sent off for something that let’s face it, is f***king foolishness what they’re getting sent off for now. You shouldn’t be getting sent off for that."

Wright’s comments have sparked a heated debate on social media, with fans divided on the issue. While some have defended Haaland’s actions, others have praised Wright for speaking out against unsportsmanlike behavior.

As the debate continues, one thing is clear: Ian Wright is not afraid to speak his mind and stand up for what he believes in. Will Haaland respond to Wright’s criticism? Only time will tell.
