Wrexham Linked with Second Striker on Deadline Day as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Prepare to Splash the Cash Again
As the transfer deadline looms, Wrexham AFC have been linked with a second striker on deadline day. The Red Dragons have already made some impressive signings this summer, including Ollie Rathbone, Arthur Okonkwo, George Dobson, and Callum Burton. But it seems that manager Phil Parkinson is not done yet, with reports suggesting that a new striker could be on his way to the club.
According to sources, Wrexham have made enquiries about Stoke City’s Niall Ennis, who is said to be surplus to requirements at the Potters. Ennis, 21, has had a decent career so far, making 14 appearances for Stoke and scoring one goal. If he does join Wrexham, he will be expected to challenge for a starting spot alongside new signing Mo Faal, who made the move from West Bromwich Albion earlier this week.
Faal, 21, has signed a contract with Wrexham until June 2027, with an option for an additional year. The Gambian-born striker has had a promising career so far, making 14 appearances for West Brom and scoring one goal. When asked about his new signing, Parkinson said: "I’m delighted to welcome Mo to the Club. He’s an exciting young striker and has had a really good progression in his loan moves in the last couple of seasons; we’re really looking forward to working with him."
But what about Ennis? If Wrexham do manage to sign him, it could be a shrewd move by Parkinson. Ennis has experience playing in League One, having made 14 appearances for Stoke, and could bring a new dimension to Wrexham’s attack. With the deadline looming, it’s unclear whether a deal will be done, but one thing is for sure – Wrexham fans are excited about the prospect of adding another new face to the squad.
