Barcelona Still Can’t Register Dani Olmo Despite Recent Departures
Barcelona’s troubles continue as they struggle to register new signing Dani Olmo. Despite offloading Vitor Roque, Clement Lenglet, and Mikayil Faye, the Catalan giants still don’t have the salary margin to register the 26-year-old.
Olmo, who joined Barca from RB Leipzig in a deal worth £51 million, has yet to feature for the team this season. The Spain international was a key player in his country’s Euro 2024 victory and signed a six-year contract with a £429 million release clause.
In an interview, Barca boss Hansi Flick expressed his hopes to register Olmo for their upcoming match against Rayo Vallecano. "I’m always hopeful, I was also hoping for him for the last game. It would be great to have him for tomorrow’s game," he said.
However, Flick acknowledged that the situation is difficult for both the player and the team. "These are things that neither the player nor the team can control. We talked about the situation, we know it is difficult here in Barcelona. I believe in the club and I hope we can register him for tomorrow’s game."
When pressed about the possibility of more departures to free up space for Olmo, Flick replied, "There are players who have left in the last few days. We need players to be able to play and be competitive with the other teams. We are really going to get Dani signed up."
The Problem with Barca’s Financial Situation
Barcelona’s financial woes are well-documented, and it seems that they are struggling to register Olmo due to their strict salary limits. Despite the departures of Roque, Lenglet, and Faye, the club still don’t have the space to register the new signing.
It’s unclear what the future holds for Olmo, but one thing is certain – the club needs to get their financial house in order to compete with the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. Follow us on all social media platforms for more updates on this story and all the latest Barcelona news!
