Tender chicken pieces are marinated in Indian spices like tandoori masala, red chili powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and more, and cooked in a tandoor to give us the beloved chicken tikka. Now you can make this classic street food at home, with this easy recipe.

Chicken Tikka Recipe: How to Make Restaurant-Style Chicken Tikka

Start by marinating the chicken in salt, ginger-garlic paste, and lemon juice. Marinate this for about 3-4 hours. Next, add yogurt, cornstarch, mustard oil, tandoori masala, red Kashmir chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, and black pepper powder. Keep this marinated for at least 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius. String the marinated chicken onto the skewers along with the onion and bell pepper. Cover the skewers on a foil-lined baking sheet. Grill for 10-12 minutes then turn the skewers. Let the chicken cook until slightly charred. The chicken tikka is ready!
