Victor Osimhen’s Agent Throws Water on Al Ahli Rumors, Hinting at European Switch
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda has ruled out a potential move to Al Ahli in a stunning twist, amid intense transfer speculation. The Saudi Pro League side was rumored to have agreed a deal in excess of £59 million for the Nigerian international, but it seems that’s not the case.
Calenda took to X to share a statement, demanding respect and claiming that Osimhen "still has so much to do in Europe". He wrote, "Osimhen is a Napoli player, with a contract recently renewed with mutual satisfaction. He made history and when there were major offers (also this year) we always accepted the club’s decisions."
This development comes as a major update in the transfer saga surrounding Osimhen. The 25-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Napoli this summer, with Chelsea and other European clubs reportedly interested.
It’s clear that Osimhen’s agent is looking to attract interest from European clubs, potentially ruling out a switch to Al Ahli. The Nigerian international scored 17 goals last season, having bagged an impressive 31 goals across all competitions the season before.
Chelsea, Arsenal, and Paris Saint-Germain are believed to be among the clubs interested in signing Osimhen. The Blues, in particular, have held a long-standing interest in the striker as Enzo Maresca looks to add a prolific forward to his squad.
It’s unlikely that Napoli will hold onto Osimhen for much longer, with the club resigned to losing his services ahead of the transfer deadline. Will a European club be able to tempt him away from Naples? Only time will tell.
