TNT Sports Clarify Position on Jermaine Jenas Amid BBC Sacking
In a surprising turn of events, former footballer Jermaine Jenas has been sacked from his role at the BBC, with reports suggesting it’s due to "inappropriate behavior". But what does this mean for his future at TNT Sports, where he’s a prominent figure in their football and Formula E coverage?
According to The Mirror, TNT Sports are currently unaware of Jenas’ employment status with the BBC and are taking any accusations of inappropriate behavior seriously. They would investigate accordingly should they receive any information.
While Jenas’ time at the BBC may be over, he’s still a key member of the TNT Sports team. However, he’s not currently scheduled to appear in any upcoming games over the next few weeks.
Jenas joined TNT Sports last year, taking on the role of main Formula E presenter for the 2024 season. Despite having no prior experience in the sport, he’s been enthusiastic about the opportunity to explore a new field.
"I always loved Formula One, and this particular job came about because FE is a brand-new sport, it’s only nine or ten years old," Jenas said in an interview with That Peter Crouch Podcast. "It’s a sport that revolves around sustainability and the excitement as well. When they asked me to do it, I was like, ‘Look, I’ve never seen this racing before. As much as I love F1, I’m going to have to do a lot of research and work into FE.’"
It’s unclear what the future holds for Jenas, but one thing is certain – the sports world will be watching with interest.
