The 10 best strikers in world football right now ranked

SPORTbible have ranked the top 10 best strikers in the world right now.

The game evolving in recent times did see a slight shortage in number nine, with the wide players being the ones who grab the goals.

But it feels like there has been something of a resurgence in natural number nines and so we’ve put together a list that will no doubt spark debate.

There are plenty of household names, a glaring omission or two and some players who do also play in other positions on occasion.

Take a look below and let us know your thoughts.

The Poland captain has been one of the best strikers for years now. His best form was at Bayern Munich but the 35-year-old has still showed his class at Barcelona.

Some may argue that the Saudi Pro League isn’t all that but Ronaldo bagged 54 goals for club and country in 2023 and was the world’s top scorer.

The World Cup winner has played in a deeper role on occasion this term but is still a number nine at heart and has played there with distinction too.

The 23-year-old has developed into one of the deadliest frontmen around, with 16 goals and eight assists for table-topping Bayer Leverkusen.

Ange Postecoglou coped with the departure of Harry Kane by moving Heung-Min Son centrally and giving him the captaincy.

He has 12 goals and six assists and Spurs need him back desperately.

Making the top five is a criminally underrated striker. Martinez is the Serie A top scorer with 19 goals this term and looks like he could fire Inter to the Scudetto.

One of the most sought-after strikers in the world. The African Footballer of the Year was unplayable last season as Napoli won the league for the first time since 1990.

He’s not quite hit the same heights this season for a side seriously struggling but expect him to get a big move in the summer.

The World Cup winner can play anywhere across the front three but his pace and finishing makes him a truly devastating forward. A mooted move to Real Madrid might just bring him that Ballon d’Or.
