The La Baells reservoir is a hydraulic infrastructure located on the Llobregat river, in the Berguedà region. The dam is located in the municipality of Cercs.
These days the reservoir is very low in water and the edges of the reservoir draw figures of dryness, some spectacular mosaics of cracks in the earth, as we see in The Photos of La Vanguardia Readers.

The purpose of the reservoir is to regulate the upper basin of the Llobregat River, supply water to the Barcelona metropolitan area and produce hydroelectric power.
