Sir Alex Ferguson Breaks His Own Record with Staggering Horse Racing Purchase
Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has broken his own world record by contributing to a staggering purchase in the world of horse racing.
Ferguson, who retired from football management in 2013, has made a name for himself in the horse racing scene, with two winners at the Cheltenham Festival earlier this year. His love for horse racing has led him to partner with other owners to purchase Regent’s Stroll, a promising jumps horse, for a staggering £660,000.
The bidding war between Tom Malone and trainer Paul Nicholls saw the price skyrocket, eventually breaking Ferguson’s previous record of £623,000 for Caldwell Potter. Regent’s Stroll is yet to compete in a jumps race but has shown impressive form in National Hunt flat races, winning two out of two starts under jockey Harry Cobden.
In an interview with the Racing Post, Paul Nicholls described the experience as a "huge relief" and praised Ferguson’s involvement, saying: "It was my job to put people together and get the horses bought, which is what we’ve done. Everyone’s been so supportive."
The ownership group will consist of John Hales, Ged Mason, Neil and Alfie Smith, as well as Ferguson himself. With their combined expertise and resources, Regent’s Stroll is set to make waves in the world of horse racing.
It’s clear that Ferguson’s passion for horse racing is as strong as ever. His ability to break his own record is a testament to his dedication and strategic thinking. As the horse racing world awaits Regent’s Stroll’s first jumps start, one thing is certain: Sir Alex Ferguson is a force to be reckoned with.
