SHOCKING MOMENT: West Brom Star Lands Huge Punch on Opponent in Pre-Season Friendly
We’re still trying to wrap our heads around this one. West Brom midfielder Jayson Molumby has been involved in a massive bust-up with Mallorca player Samu Costa during their pre-season friendly on Saturday.
The Republic of Ireland international appeared to attempt to headbutt Costa before landing a huge punch on the Portuguese player. The incident happened after Costa brought Molumby down, and the pair squared up to each other, exchanging words and foreheads.
But things quickly escalated as Molumby launched a massive right-hand punch at Costa, sending him crashing to the ground. The pair then got into a scuffle, with several players from both teams jumping in to try and separate them.

It’s starting to look like pre-season is a breeding ground for controversy, with tempers flaring left, right, and center. But you’d think that with the World Cup just around the corner, teams would be focusing on getting their squads ready rather than engaging in off-the-pitch drama.

We expect the FA to take a closer look at this incident and consider taking disciplinary action against Molumby. He’s got a history of getting involved in scrapes, and this is certainly not the first time he’s been involved in a physical altercation.
