Shock Club Registers Interest in Mykhailo Mudryk as Chelsea Prepare to Sell Four More Players in January
The Blues are set to make some major changes to their squad in the January transfer window, with a host of players being linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge. And, according to reports, Mykhailo Mudryk could be one of the first to go.
The 23-year-old winger has struggled to make an impact since joining Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, and the club are reportedly open to selling him in January. And, as it turns out, a shock club has already registered interest in the Ukrainian international.
Marseille in the Frame
French outfit Marseille have been linked with a move for Mudryk, with manager Roberto de Zerbi reportedly a big fan of the winger. The French club have a history of signing players from the Premier League, and Mudryk could be the latest addition to their squad.
Bayern Munich’s Interest Wanes
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich’s interest in Mudryk has reportedly waned following the departure of Thomas Tuchel. The German giants were previously linked with a move for the winger, but it seems they are no longer in the running.
Loan Move Most Likely
Given the reluctance of clubs to splash out on transfers during the season, a loan move for Mudryk appears to be the most likely option. And, if he can impress during his time away from Chelsea, it could be the best opportunity for his valuation to rise again.
Other Players on the chopping Block
Mudryk isn’t the only player Chelsea are open to selling in January. Defenders Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, and Ben Chilwell could all be sold in January, with Mudryk joining the list ahead of the January transfer window.
Chilwell’s Options
Chilwell has been linked with a move to Turkey, with Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town also keeping tabs on him. Disasi, on the other hand, is reportedly wanted by teams in France and Italy.
What’s Next for Chelsea?
It’s clear that Chelsea are looking to trim their squad and balance their books in January. With a host of players linked with moves away, it will be interesting to see how things play out over the coming weeks.
