SAUDI PRO LEAGUE STAR FACES LONG RECOVERY AFTER HORRIFIC BALCONY FALL

In a shocking turn of events, a key player in the Saudi Pro League has been hospitalized after a freak accident at his Dubai residence. Saudi Arabian footballer Fahad Al-Muwallad, who plays for Al Shabab, has suffered multiple fractures and is currently in intensive care following a fall from a second-floor balcony.

The 30-year-old winger has made 38 appearances for Al Shabab since joining the club in 2022, scoring twice and assisting four goals. He has also represented Saudi Arabia on 74 occasions, captaining the team on several occasions, including during the 2018 World Cup.

According to sources, Al-Muwallad fell from the balcony at his Dubai home on Thursday, leading to a dramatic scene where he was immediately rushed to Rashid Hospital. A statement from Al Shabab confirmed the incident, saying, "Fahad al-Muwallad has suffered a health incident that required his hospitalisation in Dubai. We wish him a speedy recovery.”

Al Shabab has been dealing with an inconsistent start to the season, losing their opening match to Al Ettifaq before beating Al-Khaleej 1-0 in their second fixture. With a tough fixture list ahead, including a clash with table-toppers Al Qadisiyah, Al Shabab will be keen to get their star player back on the pitch as soon as possible.

SAUDI PRO LEAGUE’S LOST START

Al Shabab’s slow start to the season has left them in 12th place in the table, trailing top spot by seven points. With Al Qadisiyah boasting a 100% start to the campaign, the pressure is on Al Shabab to turn their season around. The club has some of the best talent in the league, including former Atletico Madrid midfielder Yannick Carrasco, ex-Premier League players Wesley Hoedt and Daniel Podence.

WILL AL MUWALLAD RETURN TO FORM?

Al Muwallad’s injuries could not have come at a worse time for Al Shabab, who desperately need a spark to revive their campaign. His leadership and skill on the pitch will be greatly missed, and the team will struggle to cope without their key player. The question on everyone’s lips is, will Al Muwallad return to form, and can Al Shabab turn their season around?
