Ryan Reynolds’ Cheeky Pitch to Mohamed Salah: A Shock Move to Wrexham AFC?
Wrexham AFC are dreaming big, and who knows, they might just land a Premier League superstar. Co-chairman Ryan Reynolds has sent a direct message to Mohamed Salah, asking the Liverpool forward to "think about" making a sensational move to the Racecourse Ground in North Wales.
After two consecutive promotions under Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s ownership, Wrexham are gearing up for the challenges of League One. The club has a reputation for luring former Premier League stars to help them rise through the divisions. Salah’s future at Liverpool is uncertain, with his contract set to expire next summer and no new deal agreed yet. With reports linking him to a move to Saudi Arabia, Reynolds’ cheeky plea might just be the spark needed to ignite a potential transfer saga.
Speaking at a promotional event for their new movie Deadpool & Wolverine, Reynolds and co-star Hugh Jackman were asked which Premier League footballer they’d be. Jackman chose Mohamed Salah, praising his professionalism and dedication. Reynolds, however, felt Salah’s accomplishments deserved more recognition, stating, "I feel like we could probably expound a bit more on his accomplishments."
Reynolds then sent a direct message to Salah, saying, "Ryan Reynolds, co-chairman, Wrexham AFC. Mo, you would be warmly embraced at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales." Jackman chimed in, joking that Salah wouldn’t get a full 90 minutes, but maybe 20 minutes every game. Reynolds responded, "All we need is five. Think about it."
While this might seem like a pipe dream, Wrexham AFC has a history of pulling off unexpected transfers. Salah’s decision to join the club would be a significant coup, and who knows, it might just be the boost they need to make a push for promotion in League One.
