Ronaldo and Pioli Bag First Win Together as Al Nassr Stun Al Ettifaq 3-0
What a night it was at the King Fahd International Stadium as Cristiano Ronaldo inspired Al Nassr to a 3-0 rout of Al Ettifaq, giving new boss Stefano Pioli his first win in charge.
The Portuguese superstar, recovering from a viral infection that kept him out of Al Nassr’s previous clash, made no mistake from the penalty spot to seal the win. The result was a much-needed tonic for the Saudi Arabian side, who had been plagued by a slow start to the season.
Pioli, who led AC Milan to the Serie A title in 2022, was appointed just days ago, replacing Luis Castro. His impact was immediate, and his team’s attacking potency was on full display in the second half. Salem Al-Najdi and Anderson Talisca completed the scoring, with Talisca’s goal ensuring a comfortable victory.

The result sees Al Nassr jump to fourth in the table, while Al Ettifaq remain third.
In other Saudi Pro League action, Al Ahli climbed to fifth after crushing Damac 4-2. Ivan Toney, signed from Brentford in August, bagged two goals, including a strike for his new club’s opener. Roberto Firmino, a former Liverpool star, also got in on the act.
All eyes will be on this weekend’s clash between title rivals Al Hilal and Al Ittihad.
