More information has been revealed about Chelsea’s failed attempt to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli, and it’s not looking good for Blues fans.

The Nigerian striker joined Galatasaray on a one-year loan deal, despite Chelsea reportedly making a loan offer better for both parties than Galatasaray’s agreement.

According to Matt Law, a journalist for The Daily Telegraph, Chelsea’s initial loan offer for Osimhen was met with skepticism by Napoli. "Their loan offer was better for him and Napoli than what he signed with Galatasaray on loan," Law revealed on the London is Blue Podcast.

"Chelsea were told under no circumstances that he was going to move on loan by the agent, so therefore their loan offers were completely ignored."

Law added: "They saw Osimhen as a potential risk deal, which is why they pitched how they pitched in terms of a loan with all sorts of incentive-based wages and things like that."

With Osimhen now confirmed to be out of Antonio Conte’s plans, it’s hard not to wonder what might have been if Chelsea’s loan offer had been given serious consideration. Napoli’s demands may have altered significantly once the chance for Chelsea to sign Osimhen had passed.
