Actors Petra Martínez and Juan Margallo have received this Friday the National Theater Award for the corresponding 2022, which is presented annually by the Ministry of Culture and Sports and endowed with 30,000 euros, as reported by the ministry.

The jury has proposed the award to Petra Martínez and Juan Margallo “for their coherence in the trajectory created on the stage, and for their commitment to the arts and society through their creations”.

Petra Martínez and Juan Margallo form one of the “strongest and most fruitful” artistic marriages on the Spanish cultural scene. Petra Martínez also has extensive experience in television and film, where she has been directed by such directors as José Luis García Sánchez, Manuel Gutierrez Aragon, Jaime Rosales and Pedro Almodovar.

Among their recognitions, stands out the Gold Medal for Merit in the Fine Arts (2011) for the Euroc Theater Group. Similarly, Margallo has been honored twice with Martinez with the Max Award for the Performing Arts and the Feroz Award for Best Leading Actress by David Martín de los Santos for his latest film ‘La Vida Era Esto’.
