Newspaper edits image of Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez and ‘censors’ detail

Cristiano Ronaldo’s partner, Georgina Rodriguez, has seen an image of herself edited in an Iranian newspaper.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez are alongside their five children and two birthday cakes.

He captioned the post: “Grateful to spend my 39th birthday the best way possible: with my family and back on the training pitch. Thank you all for the warm messages!”

Ronaldo and his family have settled in Saudi Arabia, with the Portugal international hoping to turn it into a top league that rivals those in Europe over the next few years.

Naturally, Ronaldo’s birthday received coverage worldwide. Few people would’ve expected what Middle Eastern publication Hamshahri ended up doing.

In the picture, Rodriguez is standing next to Cristiano Jr. in a black dress with her hair slicked back in a bun.

But the image looked very different when it appeared in Hamshahri – as Rodriguez’s backside has been completely removed.

It appears to have been photoshopped over, rather than any subtle attempt to reduce her curves.

Online, it’s been suggested the change was made to stay in line with how women dress in Muslim countries.

A source told The Sun: “Georgina will be very upset. She works hard for her body and is very proud of her curves.

“It just shows the view of women in some parts of the world is twisted. It’s only a bottom.”

British-Iranian actor Omid Djalili later claimed: “Displaying such little respect for women by publicly disfiguring them says so much.”

LADbible Group has contacted the Hamshahri newspaper for comment.

Ronaldo scored the only goal in Al Nassr’s 1-0 win over Al Feiha in the AFC Champions League on Wednesday evening.

Al Nassr return to action against Al Fateh on Saturday afternoon.
