Newcastle United "Pushing" to Land Free Transfer of Premier League Winner
Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are reportedly pushing to secure the signature of former Manchester City and Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane on a free transfer next summer. According to sources, the 28-year-old German international’s contract at Bayern Munich is set to expire in the summer, making him eligible to sign with the Magpies without a transfer fee.
Newcastle United have made an impressive start to the Premier League campaign, sitting seventh in the table after six matches. However, Howe’s side still lacks depth in certain positions, and Sane’s arrival could provide a significant boost to the team’s attacking options.
Sane, a two-time Premier League winner with Manchester City, has struggled to establish himself at Bayern Munich under new manager Vincent Kompany. He has featured just twice in the Bundesliga this term, with Serge Gnabry preferred as the starter on the left flank.
