New Champions League Broadcasters Reveal Star-Studded Line-Up
The Champions League is just around the corner, and Amazon Prime has announced its lineup of pundits and commentators for the upcoming season. As the new broadcaster, they’ve assembled a star-studded team, and we’re excited to dive in.
Who’s Who in the Commentary Booth
Jon Champion and Alan Shearer will be the lead commentary duo for the big Tuesday night matches, while Gabriel Clarke will be the pitchside reporter. Clarence Seedorf, a four-time Champions League winner, will join the punditry team, along with Daniel Sturridge, Frank Lampard, Gael Clichy, Josie Henning, and Laura Georges. That’s a lot of footballing talent!
What to Expect
Amazon’s coverage will kick off from the play-off round on Tuesday, August 20, and will continue until the semi-finals in May. The broadcast will feature a range of exciting innovations, including a new "Rapid Recap" feature, a "Key Moments" navigation bar, and low-latency technology. And, for those with compatible devices, the premier Tuesday fixtures will be broadcast in High Dynamic Range color.

In a press release, Alex Green, Prime Video sport Managing Director, said, "Our UEFA Champions League coverage in the UK will build on the features and on-air team that football fans have enjoyed across our football coverage on Prime since 2019. We’re adding exciting new faces and innovations that will join our best-in-class streaming technology to deliver an all-round great experience for football fans, befitting this prestigious competition."
Get Ready to Watch
With Amazon Prime’s new coverage, football fans will have access to 17 first-pick Champions League matches on Tuesday nights. And, as an added bonus, they’ll also be able to watch all other matches through the Discovery+ add-on subscription.
