Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud Deliver Dramatic Doubles Win to Reach Swedish Open Semi-Finals
Rafael Nadal and Casper Ruud showed their doubles skills at the Swedish Open, overcoming a dramatic match against French duo Theo Arribage and Roman Safiullin. The pair saved a match point to win 6-4 3-6 12-10 and advance to the semi-finals.
"It has been an emotional match at the end, a good level of tennis against two good players," Nadal said after the win. "We enjoy it and the crowd was amazing, a full crowd in a doubles match, that’s fantastic. Just enjoying every single day here."
The doubles duo broke early in the first set, and though Arribage and Safiullin fought back, Nadal and Ruud held strong to win the opener. The French pair surged to a 3-0 lead in the second, but Nadal and Ruud regained momentum to send the match into a thrilling tie-break.

With the match on the line at 9-10, Nadal and Ruud saved a match point and sealed the win with consecutive points.
"Winning alongside Rafa was a special doubles today. We saved a match point so a bit lucky, and we look forward to the next match," Ruud said with a laugh.
