Mo Salah set to be offered insane Saudi Pro League contract that ‘could eclipse’ Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr salary

Mo Salah to be offered insane Saudi Pro League contract that could 'eclipse' Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr salary

The Egyptian’s Liverpool contract is set to expire this summer.

Mohamed Salah could be ‘offered’ a surprise salary by the Saudi Pro League side – and it could also mean he will be ‘paid’ more than Cristiano Ronaldo.

If a new agreement cannot be reached between the club and the player before the end of the 2024/25 season, 32-year-old Salah’s current Liverpool contract will expire in June 2025.

Despite putting in a respectable and classy performance on the pitch, the Egyptian discussed his thoughts on the situation with journalists gathered outside St Mary’s following the Reds’ 3-2 win against Southampton last Sunday.

The former Chelsea winger revealed how he was ‘disappointed’ with the current situation regarding his future and admitted he was “probably more on the outside than on the inside”.

Now, according to MatchHe could be offered an “astronomical” contract if he joins the Saudi Pro League club – with the league’s hierarchy believed to be keen to bring Salah on board.

In August 2023, the former Roma star was the subject of interest from Al-Ittihad, with the club even offering £150m – but no move was made.

Given the fact that the 32-year-old will be joining on a free transfer, he could be paid more money than Ronaldo.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is playing for Saudi outfit Al Nassr from December 2022, reportedly earns £177m per year.

According to the Mail report, ‘sources’ have claimed, ‘No deal for Salah to join [Saudi Pro] The league will match or even eclipse the figure [earned by Ronaldo],

So, Salah has to make a decision: stay and try to win silverware with Liverpool or depart for a new challenge in Saudi Arabia.

There is no doubt that he is one of the most recognized players in the Arab world.

And as tourists who have visited the Middle East and North Africa will know, when football is mentioned in the region, Salah is usually mentioned.

It is still unclear whether Liverpool will offer the Egypt international a new deal or whether the player would be willing to remain in case a new contract is on the table.

While matters on the pitch could hardly be better – Liverpool top the Premier League and the 36-team Champions League group stage – situations regarding the contracts of Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are playing out in the background.
