Argentina finished 2024 as the world No. 1 men’s team for the second consecutive year, according to the FIFA rankings.
There were only limited changes to the rankings published on Thursday and only 21 international matches since the previous rankings were released in November.
Argentina, who won the Copa America in July, finished the year in top spot ahead of France, while European champions Spain completed the podium.
There were no changes to the rest of the top 10: in order, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy and Germany.
FIFA said Angola, which played the most matches in 2024, recorded the biggest progress over the past 12 months, climbing 32 places to 85th.
The next rankings will be published in April.
