Manchester United Line Up Table Offer for Sander Berge as Erik ten Hag Seeks Fifth Summer Signing

Manchester United are set to make another significant move in the transfer window, with a table offer reportedly made for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge. The Norwegian is high on Erik ten Hag’s radar as the Dutchman looks to reinforce his squad for the new season.
United’s summer recruitment drive has already seen the arrivals of several key players, including Joshua Zirkzee, who scored a debut goal against Fulham on Friday. And according to the Daily Mail, Berge could be the next big-name addition to the squad.
Berge joined Burnley from Sheffield United last summer and has yet to feature in a single minute of competitive action for the Clarets. His absence from the season opener against Luton Town was attributed to a minor injury, but manager Scott Parker refused to rule out a departure for the midfielder.
There’s no denying that Berge has a talent that United would love to exploit. With the Uruguayan holding midfielder boasting a wealth of experience, ten Hag could see him as a crucial component in his midfield, offering protection to the backline while also contributing to the attack with his pace and vision.
But it’s not just Burnley who are interested in the player’s services. Paris Saint-Germain, who signed Ugarte from Sporting Lisbon for a fee in the region of £52m, are reportedly unwilling to sell at any price, despite United’s admiration for the Uruguayan.
It seems unlikely that United will meet PSG’s asking price, leaving Berge as their best bet in the midfield department. As the transfer window edges closer to its August 30 deadline, it will be interesting to see how things unfold.
