Man Utd set to complete another huge summer signing with announcement ‘imminent’

Manchester United Edging Closer to Fifth Summer Signinging

Manchester United are on the cusp of making their fifth major signing of the summer transfer window, with Manuel Ugarte set to join from Sporting CP. According to a report from the Manchester Evening News, the Reds are close to finalizing a season-long loan deal with an obligation to buy, which would bring Ugarte to Old Trafford before the window shuts.

Ugarte, a Uruguay international midfielder, has been a target for United throughout the summer, and the clubs have recently agreed on a valuation for the player. As reported by RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain has been demanding a staggering €60 million for the 22-year-old midfielder, who made 4.6 tackles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1 last season.

While Ugarte’s arrival would bolster United’s midfield options, the Reds are also said to be open to offers for midfield duo Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. The latter has been linked with a potential €100 million move to Al Nassr, according to reports, although United are keen to keep the Brazilian international on board.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Casemiro expressed his love for life at United, insisting he still has the energy and mentality to play at the highest level. He credited the club for giving him what he wanted, and enjoying the game every day. However, United may be forced to cash in on their star midfielder if the right offer comes along.

Away from transfer talks, Erik ten Hag has heaped praise on Casemiro, describing his performance against Fulham last week as "very important in and out of possession, organising with smart solutions." The Dutch coach echoed the sentiments, saying: "This is the Casemiro we all enjoy."
