Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, and Anthony Martial were the three players in question. Pogba, of course, was already nearing the end of his United contract when Rangnick made his remarks, and he eventually left for Juventus. Cavani also saw his contract expire, and he opted to join Valencia.
But Anthony Martial remains a free agent, despite reportedly drawing interest from Lille and Atalanta. It’s been over nine years since he joined United from Monaco, but Martial’s struggles for form and fitness have made it tough for him to command a regular starting spot.
There’s no doubt that Martial was once a promising talent, but his time at United was marred by inconsistency and injuries. Now, at 27, he needs to find a new chapter in his career. Update: Martial has played for Sevilla on loan this season, but his future remains uncertain. As of now, he is without a club and needs to find a new opportunity to revive his career.
Rangnick’s comments about Pogba, Cavani, and Martial might have been harsh, but it’s undeniable that their performances had declined under his watch. The question remains whether they can recapture their best form and find new success at their next clubs.
