Manchester United’s Academy Kids Get Their Big Break!
In a shock move, Manchester United have promoted two young talents from their academy squad to the first team. According to a report, defenders Harry Amass and Ethan Wheatley will join the club’s 25-man first-team list ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.
The duo got their big break after making appearances in pre-season friendlies, impressing boss Erik ten Hag and the coaching staff with their performances. This decision to promote academy players is a clear sign of the manager’s faith in young talent, and we think it could pay off big time for the Red Devils.
United take on Fulham in their first league match on Friday, and having these talented youngsters in the fold could provide an added boost. The prospect of watching these academy products take to the field alongside world-class stars like Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford is an exciting one.
In other news, United are reportedly closing in on a couple of high-profile signings. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano revealed that midfielder Matthijs de Ligt and defender Noussair Mazraoui could undergo medical tests at the club on Monday.
This influx of new talent comes after a disappointing start to the campaign, with United conceding twice to Manchester City in the Community Shield final. Manager Erik ten Hag has called for his players to feel the pain of the defeat and to use it as motivation to push them forward.
After the match, he said: “You have to feel the pain. You have to get fuel from it to make it a successful season, but also take the positives that we can bring.”
With Amass and Wheatley joining the team, United’s fans have even more reasons to be excited about the new season. Don’t miss out on any updates – follow us on all social media platforms for more!
