Ralf Rangnick’s Only Signing at Manchester United Signs New Contract
Ralf Rangnick’s only signing at Manchester United, Toby Collyer, has put pen to paper on a new contract with the club, keeping him at Old Trafford until at least 2027 with an option to extend until 2028.
The 20-year-old defensive midfielder joined United in March 2022 from Brighton, but has yet to make his competitive debut for the first team. However, he has been an unused substitute for seven Premier League games, including each of the last four fixtures of the season.
Collyer has been praised for his performances in the U-21 setup, and his new contract is a reward for his efforts since joining the club. Manchester United released a statement following the announcement, saying: "The new deal is reward for his efforts since joining the club and everybody would like to congratulate Toby and wish him well for what lies ahead in 2024/25."
Erik ten Hag has already demonstrated his willingness to give youth a chance, with players like Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo already making an impact in the first team. Collyer could be one to watch next season as he makes his step up through the ranks.
What’s Next for Collyer?
Collyer’s new contract is a huge boost for the young midfielder, who will be looking to make his mark on the first team in the coming seasons. With ten Hag’s willingness to give youth a chance, Collyer could be in line for a breakout season.
Manchester United fans will be excited to see Collyer in action, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on his progress. Will he be able to make a name for himself in the Premier League? Only time will tell.
