Man Utd have made ‘significant’ change to Casemiro’s contract ahead of potential transfer

Breaking: Manchester United Make Shock Move on Casemiro’s Contract Ahead of Potential Transfer

Manchester United have reportedly made a significant change to the contract of Brazilian midfielder Casemiro ahead of his potential transfer away from the club this summer. But he’s not the only player affected.

The 32-year-old was substituted at half-time in United’s 3-0 defeat to Liverpool after making two errors that ultimately led to goals scored by Luis Diaz. The Turkish transfer window closes on September 13, and Galatasaray have been linked with a move for the midfielder.

According to reports, one of United’s main issues when it comes to selling Casemiro is his salary, with two years still remaining on his four-year contract signed when he arrived at Old Trafford from Real Madrid in 2022. However, as part of United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League this season, Casemiro was one of the first-team players to have his wage reduced.

On the Talk of the Devils podcast, The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell revealed that Casemiro’s wages were cut by 25 per cent. He explained: "Yeah, I don’t know the full details, but they [Chelsea] are not paying the full wages. It’s a significant amount, we’re told."

This wage cut could make Casemiro more attractive to potential buyers, and Galatasaray would only have to cover some of his wages in order to sign him on a loan deal similar to the one that has seen striker Victor Osimhen arrive from Napoli.

The report claims that Chelsea would cover some of Jadon Sancho’s wages during his season-long loan at the club, with the Blues having an obligation to make the move permanent next summer. This deal could pave the way for Casemiro’s exit from United.

It remains to be seen whether United will be able to secure a good deal for Casemiro, but this development could be a crucial step in the midfielder’s potential departure from the club.
