Man Utd Fans Are All Saying the Same Thing After Huge Everton Takeover News Emerges
Everton’s takeover drama just took another twist, and Manchester United fans are loving every minute of it. The Toffees’ deal with the Friedkin Group has been called off, and it’s got United supporters rubbing their hands in glee.
The Friedkin Group, who own Roma, had agreed to take over Everton in June, but the deal fell through after the two parties failed to agree on terms. This means Everton’s majority owner, Farhad Moshiri, is now back in the driving seat.
But what does this mean for Manchester United? Well, it looks like the Red Devils might be able to rekindle their interest in young centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite. United made two offers for the 19-year-old, worth £35million rising to £43million and £45million rising to £50million, before signing Leny Yoro from Lille instead.
However, Everton fans are in meltdown mode, and United supporters are lapping up the drama. "Bad couple of days for Everton…", one fan joked on X, suggesting that United should offer £10m cash and a bag of salt for Branthwaite just for the banter.
Another fan added, "Everton fans tears will full TL again when Man Utd sign Branthwaite for 40m + 5m add-ons. Bring it on, I need it…". And a third chimed in, "Everton will accept Man Utd offer of 35m for Branthwaite now. Your deal’s fallen through. Man Utd should just chuck the £60m + £10m in to buy Everton.. Forget Branthwaite".
With Everton’s financial situation looking dire, it’s no surprise that United fans are thinking about making a move for Branthwaite. And who knows, maybe this takeover drama will spark a bidding war for the young defender.
