Leny Yoro’s Manchester United Move on the Brink of Completion as He Prepares for Medical and Personal Talks
Lille defender Leny Yoro is edging closer to a sensational £52 million switch to Manchester United, with the 19-year-old centre-back set to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms with the Red Devils.
According to reports, United have agreed an initial €62 million (£52m) fee with Lille, which is a significant coup for the club. Yoro has reportedly warmed to the idea of joining United, but there is still work to be done before the move can be confirmed.
The Frenchman’s preference was initially a move to Real Madrid, but the Spanish giants have shown no indication of paying the price that United and Lille have settled on. Meanwhile, United are said to be maintaining their admiration for Matthijs de Ligt and Jarrad Branthwaite, but the arrival of Yoro will depend on departures, with Victor Lindelof being linked with a move away.
The signing of Yoro would be a major statement of intent from United, who are looking to bolster their defensive options following a disappointing season. The young centre-back is regarded as one of the biggest prospects in Europe, and his arrival would be a significant boost to Erik ten Hag’s squad.

Many expected a busy summer of recruitment when Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS completed their purchase of a minority stake in United – and it appears that suggestion will come true. United have already made their first signing of the summer in Joshua Zirkee, and with Yoro on the brink of joining, it’s clear that Ten Hag is building a strong squad for the upcoming season.
