Man City Star Ederson Speaks Out on Future Amid Transfer Talk
Ederson has addressed rumors surrounding his future at Manchester City, but the Brazilian goalkeeper remains tight-lipped on his plans.
The 30-year-old has been a cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s City squad since his arrival in 2017, and has won numerous titles with the club, including six Premier League crowns, the Champions League, and multiple FA Cups.
However, with two years remaining on his contract, Ederson has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia this summer. Guardiola has publicly expressed his desire to keep the goalkeeper at the Etihad, but Ederson himself is remaining coy on the subject.
Speaking to TNT Brazil (via Manchester City News), Ederson said: "There isn’t a definition yet. To hear Pep saying that was very gratifying, it’s now my eighth season with him living many good moments, also some bad ones, it’s a guy that is easy to work with, he’s a football genius and everyone knows that. So it’s really good to hear that from him.
"I’m happy here, having a good moment with my teammates, I’m enjoying as well to get my fitness back on track. I’m very calm, whatever happens is in God’s hands and he knows the right way to go. Whatever he gives me I’ll be happy with."
Ederson’s comments will undoubtedly fuel speculation surrounding his future at City, but it’s clear the goalkeeper is focused on his present goals. With the new Premier League season on the horizon, Ederson will be looking to help City challenge for domestic and European silverware once again.
But how likely is a move to Saudi Arabia, and what does it say about Ederson’s commitment to Manchester City?
