Manchester City Plotting Big-Money Move for Bayern Munich Star Jamal Musiala
As the Premier League champions continue their dominance, Manchester City are reportedly setting their sights on one of the most talented young midfielders in the world. According to T-online, City are "really keen" to sign Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich, and with the 21-year-old’s contract set to expire in 2026, next summer could be the perfect opportunity for Pep Guardiola’s side to bring him to the Etihad.
Musiala has already made a massive impact in the German league, netting 17 goals and providing 16 assists in 56 appearances for Bayern. The German international’s impressive form has caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs, including Arsenal, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, but City are determined to get ahead of the competition.
So, how much would Bayern be willing to sell Musiala for? T-online claim that the Bundesliga giants may need to pay €100m (£84m) to bring in Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and City could be willing to meet that price tag if they want to bring Musiala to Manchester.
"We’re extremely ambitious, and he knows that he wants to win titles," said Bayern sporting director Max Eberl. "Talks are intensifying, but it’s difficult. As Jamal knows what he has at Bayern Munich. He grew up here and has brought himself to this level."
Eberl’s comments suggest that Musiala is not opposed to committing his long-term future to Bayern, but the club’s willingness to sell could be influenced by the prospect of bringing Wirtz to the Allianz Arena.
