Man City Fans Are Making The Same Point About Arsenal’s Squad Photo
The rivalry between Manchester City and Arsenal is one of the fiercest in the Premier League, and the latest example of this is Arsenal’s squad photo for the 24/25 season. The photo has got Manchester City fans talking, and for all the wrong reasons.
The Gunners, who have been struggling to match City’s success over the past few seasons, took to social media to post their squad photo. And, as expected, the City faithful were quick to point out one thing: Arsenal won zero trophies in the 23/24 season, so they had to use balls instead of actual trophies in the photo.
The jokes were flying in on social media, with one fan saying, "They won zero trophies so they had to use balls instead." Another tweeted, "Arsenal won zero trophies so they had to use balls instead." It’s clear that City fans are still smarting from Arsenal’s failure to catch them in the Premier League over the past two seasons.
But, as we head into the new season, it’s clear that City and Arsenal are once again the two main contenders for the Premier League title. The Gunners will face a tough Champions League tie against Europa League winners Atalanta before taking on City at the Etihad Stadium.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, however, is focused on the positives. Speaking ahead of the match in Bergamo, he said, "It’s different but here we are, playing in the Champions League on a Thursday night. It’s different but we’re really happy, motivated and enthusiastic for the first game."
City, meanwhile, kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.
So, what does it all mean? Well, for City fans, it’s clear that they are still the dominant force in the Premier League. For Arsenal, it’s about proving themselves as a title contender once again. Can they do it? We’ll have to wait and see.
