Liverpool Fans Divided as Fabio Carvalho Set to Leave Despite Impressive Pre-Season
Liverpool fans are reeling after reports emerged that Fabio Carvalho is set to leave the club despite an impressive pre-season. The 21-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Brentford, with A Bola claiming that the deal is worth €20 million, inclusive of add-ons.
Carvalho had a strong pre-season, scoring against both Arsenal and Manchester United during Liverpool’s tour of the United States. He also impressed in matches against Real Betis and Hull City. However, it seems that his future at Anfield is uncertain.
Reacting to the news on social media, fans were divided. Some expressed their disappointment and confusion, while others saw it as a good opportunity for Carvalho to develop his career.
"I think it’s a poor deal. Too low that price," one fan tweeted.
Another fan wrote, "Still trying to figure out why. Had so much great expectations for him this season."
However, some fans saw the move as a positive for Carvalho. "Good signing for Brentford. He’s gonna shine under Thomas Frank," one fan commented.
Carvalho himself had spoken about his role under new manager Arne Slot, saying, "We spoke and he told me to try and settle on the wing but obviously I know where I play best and I feel that is as a No.10. I’m just going to do what he wants me to do and just work as hard as I can for him."
The news comes as Liverpool prepare for their first season under Slot, following the departure of Jurgen Klopp. The Reds are yet to make any significant signings, and Carvalho’s potential departure will likely raise questions about the club’s transfer strategy.
