LIGUE 1 hit Cristiano Ronaldo with a brutal six-word response after he made cruel comments about France’s top league.
The Portuguese legend made a disparaging comment about the competition while collecting several awards at the Globe Soccer Awards.
Ronaldo, who plays for Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr, was crowned both the ‘best player in the Middle East’ and ‘top scorer of all time’ at last week’s event.
The 39-year-old striker is a top name in the Saudi Pro League after moving there two years ago.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr after his Manchester United deal was terminated following a major dispute with Eric ten Hag.
And after scoring 80 goals in 89 games for his new team, the three-time Premier League winner made a bold statement.
Accepting his award, ex-Real Madrid and Juventus star Ronaldo declared that the Saudi Pro League is making great strides in catching up to Europe’s top divisions.
But in his eyes it is already better than France’s Ligue 1.
The competition features a number of top names including Marseille, Monaco and Lyon.
However, Ronny believes it is only a one-team league due to the dominance of moneybags Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking on stage, Ronaldo said: “The Saudi league is better than Ligue 1.
“In France, only PSG exists – all the rest have been eliminated. “If you don’t believe me, try running in 39 or 40 degrees.”
However, Ronaldo’s comments have come back to haunt him.
The top player has not won a single title in Saudi so far and has only one Arab Club Champions Cup to his name.
And Ligue 1’s Spanish X account hit back at Ronaldo’s comments by posting a photo of rival Lionel Messi.
The snap shows the Inter Miami forward in an Argentina shirt kissing after winning the World Cup in Saudi neighbors Qatar two years ago.
One caption read: “Leo Messi playing in 38 degrees.”
Fans expressed surprise at the reaction.
One said: “I was waiting for you to post this.”
Another declared: “Admin stop this.”
One said: “Goats.”
Another said: “No shame.”
