An official Ligue 1 social media account has brutally hit back at Cristiano Ronaldo after he made disparaging comments about France’s top flight.
On Friday, Ronaldo attended the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, where he won two prestigious individual awards.
He also received the award for best Middle Eastern player as well as top goalscorer of all time.
Ronaldo also conducted an extensive interview and clarified his feelings towards his former team Manchester United.
Having won the Champions League an impressive five times during his illustrious career, he also gave his thoughts on this season’s competition.
And the 39-year-old, who is in his third season at Al Nassr, also took a brutal dig at Ligue 1.
He claimed that the Saudi Pro League is a better league than the French First Division, claiming that it only has Paris Saint-Germain.
“The Saudi league is better than Ligue 1. France only has PSG. The rest are eliminated,” he said. “Try racing in 38, 39, 40 degree weather and see… It’s hard to be a champion in Saudi.
“This year Al-Hilal are better, Al-Ittihad are on top of the league, but I believe we have to work harder to become champions. I have been champions everywhere [played] And I believe that I will be a champion [in Saudi Arabia],

He cited a quote from the player himself, which accompanied a photo of Messi celebrating the World Cup victory in Qatar, with the caption: “Leo Messi playing in 38 degrees.”
