Mbappe’s Ambitious Goal: Can He Reach 50 Goals for Real Madrid?
Kylian Mbappe has set his sights on an incredible achievement – becoming the first Real Madrid player to score 50 goals in a single season since Cristiano Ronaldo. And, with his debut goal already under his belt, he’s got the confidence to back it up.
The 25-year-old forward made his mark on the pitch, scoring his first goal for the club in the Super Cup win over Atalanta. And, speaking to Movistar, he insisted that there’s "no limit" to his goalscoring potential this season.
"We are at Real Madrid, we have no limit," Mbappe said. "If I can score 50, then 50, but the most important thing is winning and improving as a team, because we will win as a team."
Ronaldo, of course, is the last player to reach 50 goals for Madrid, doing so in six consecutive seasons between 2010 and 2016. And, with Mbappe’s incredible pace and skill on the pitch, it’s easy to see why he’s setting his sights on matching the Portuguese legend’s achievement.
But, can he do it? Mbappe will need to maintain his incredible form throughout the season, and with the likes of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham supporting him, it’s not an impossible task.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti has been impressed with the squad’s response to Mbappe’s arrival, saying: "There are no princes or kings. They have been able to combine this quality in the service of the team and that is what we want to achieve this season."
Madrid has a long history of producing star players, and Mbappe is just the latest addition to the club’s illustrious ranks. With his talent and determination, it’s clear that he’s got the potential to join the likes of Ronaldo and other Real Madrid legends.
So, can Mbappe reach 50 goals for Real Madrid this season? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure – it’ll be an exciting ride to find out.
