Kylian Mbappe Makes History at Real Madrid Presentation
Kylian Mbappe has become the second Real Madrid player to ever receive an attendance of 80,000 fans at their presentation, following in the footsteps of none other than Cristiano Ronaldo. The 25-year-old forward made history on Tuesday, as he finally achieved his childhood dream of playing for Los Blancos.
Mbappe, who signed with Real Madrid after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired, was presented to the packed Bernabeu, addressing the crowd in Spanish. The French international, who scored 256 goals in 308 appearances for PSG, has reportedly signed a lucrative contract with Real Madrid, ending months of speculation.
According to Mbappe, his decision to join Real Madrid was driven by his desire to fulfill his childhood dream. "I’ve dreamed of this day since I was a kid, and this day means a lot to me," he said. "My family are so happy here, I can see my mum crying."
Mbappe’s arrival marks a significant coup for Real Madrid, which comes three years after they failed with a £137million offer for the player. His departure from PSG was amicable, with the French giants offering him a contract extension, but he chose to see out his deal.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez addressed the crowd, saying: "The love that you felt for Real Madrid, and you identifying with this club since your childhood, made it possible for you to be here and to overcome those obstacles on the way to your dream."
