Kyle Walker didn’t hesitate when naming the best Man City player he’s played with and it’s not who you’d expect

Kyle Walker Reveals His Favorite Manchester City Teammate – And It’s Not Who You’d Expect

Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has been an integral part of the club’s success since joining in 2017. During his time at the Etihad, he’s played alongside some of the biggest stars in the game. But when asked who’s the best Manchester City player he’s ever played with, Walker gave a surprise answer.

"It’s David Silva," the 34-year-old replied on the ‘You’ll Never Beat Kyle Walker podcast’. That’s right, the City captain chose the Spanish playmaker over some of his more obvious rivals, like Kevin De Bruyne.

So, why did Walker choose Silva? "People always ask me who the best player I’ve played with at City, and it’s David," he explained. "I think he just pips Kevin. He knew when Leroy wanted the ball, when he didn’t want the ball, how he wanted the ball and I think, for me, David just knew what the team needed."

Walker went on to praise Silva’s ability to read the game, citing an example from their 3-1 win over West Ham earlier this season. "Kevin does things that are incredible. The other day when we were playing West Ham, we did a short corner and he went to shoot at goal. You’ll see that nine times out of 10 and don’t do it, but he’ll try that nine times out of 10."

Despite being left out of England’s latest squad, Walker is still remembered as one of the best City players of the modern era. With six Premier League titles and the Champions League in his trophy cabinet, it’s hard to argue with that assessment.
