Joe Rogan reveals he’d break his own strict rule to commentate on UFC fight he’s desperate to see happen

Joe Rogan Reveals He’d Break His Rule to Commentate the Ultimate Fight

For over 25 years, Joe Rogan has been a staple of the UFC, providing his expertise and wit as a commentator and interviewer. Despite his busy schedule, he’s still got a passion for the sport that never fades. So, what’s the one fight that would make him break his rule and take on a new challenge?

It’s a battle between middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis and light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. Rogan went on his YouTube channel to express his enthusiasm for this hypothetical fight, saying: "If Dricus goes up to 205 and fights Alex, oh my goodness. I’ll fly to the moon to commentate that fight. I want to see that fight. That’s crazy."

However, this fight would take place outside of the USA, which is a big no-no according to Rogan’s contract. In a 2016 podcast with UFC featherweight Jeremy Stephens, he explained: "I had a conversation with Dana [White], we had a bunch of conversations. What I decided to do was no more international travel. No more flying across the planet. I signed for at least one more year. I was on the fence man, I just do too much shit."

So, what’s the hold-up? Pereira, the current light heavyweight champion, has been calling out du Plessis, and the South African champ has shown interest in the fight. But, there’s a catch – du Plessis wants to face Pereira in the light heavyweight division, not the middleweight division. This means that the two would be competing for Pereira’s belt, rather than du Plessis’.

A fight between these two titans would be an epic showdown, with both men boasting impressive skills and records. Du Plessis is the current middleweight champion, while Pereira held the belt in the past. Both men have shown incredible resilience and determination in their careers, making this fight a true clash of the titans.

Will we see this fight come to fruition? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure – if Rogan gets his way, we’ll be tuning in from anywhere in the galaxy to witness this battle of the behemoths.
