The 2022 IPL auction in Bangalore on Saturday had to be stopped after 62-year-old auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapsed on stage. The auction site’s update is that Edmeades passed out and luckily there were no internal issues. London-based Edmeades has a 36-year career as an auctioneer. In 2018, the BCCI appointed him to the IPL auctions, replacing Richard Madley.
