England goalkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler has welcomed Ravichandran Ashwin to the Rajasthan Royals squad for the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ashwin was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 5 crore on day 1 of the mega auction on Saturday. In a video posted by Rajasthan Royals on Twitter, Buttler said: “Hi Ash, this is Jos. Don’t worry, I’m in the crease, can’t wait to see you in pink for the Royals. I look forward to sharing the locker room with you.” .”

At IPL 2019, Ashwin and Buttler were involved in a controversy as the then leader Punjab Kings had fired Buttler via ‘Mankad’. Many consider this dismissal method to be against the spirit of the game even though it is completely legal.
