Son of Ronald Vasquez, a graphic designer by profession and a taxi driver from Barranquilla, ColombiaBecomes the hero of an unexpected incident when he went to an ATM of Daviwinda Bank branch cash out,
However, the machine accidentally surprised him by giving him 9 million Colombian pesos (about $2,000). “He didn’t have that amount in his account,” his father, Dario Vasquez, told Emissora Atlantico.
According to the newspaper El Tiempo, the designer contacted an agent to withdraw money from his savings account. He put the card in the ATM and soon after, the device released an unexplained amount.
Thus, Vasquez instilled the value of honesty that, according to his father, he learned at home, took the money and went to the bank’s management office to explain what had happened.
Once, the designer heard a report from one of the company’s customers, who had requested that amount at the ATM, but there was no response from the machine.
“She remembered that her father, in the taxi, always returned his customers’ wallets, watches, cell phones, which they had left in the car. One has to be honest. Thanks to his good principles and education, he immediately went to management and explained that this money was not his,” the taxi driver took pride in his son’s actions, who eventually managed to pay his boss 9 million pesos.
