It seems like the drama surrounding Gary Lineker’s potential departure from Match of the Day has taken another twist. The BBC presenter hosted Saturday night’s episode of the show, and during his intro, he mentioned it being his "final show before the international break."
Speculation has been circulating for weeks about Lineker’s future on the show. A recent report suggested that his exit could be announced soon, with a rumored "leaked" email hinting at a potential statement from the BBC regarding his departure.
However, it appears that no such announcement has been made… yet. A BBC spokesperson released a statement, which read: "We have nothing to announce, and we have not agreed next steps with regard to his contract. He is on contract until the end of the season."
