Former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale has sparked controversy in the GOAT debate by ranking his old teammate Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Lionel Messi.
The retired Welsh international hung up his boots last year, bringing an end to a illustrious career that saw him play for Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, and Los Angeles FC.
When asked to name his top five attacking players, Bale didn’t hesitate, putting Ronaldo in first place and Messi in second. This may come as a surprise to many, given Messi’s incredible career statistics and numerous accolades.
